Mickey Bhuiyan is a versatile audit and compliance professional with over 20 years of experience in the following industries: mining, manufacturing, financial services, airline, and public accounting.
He holds the following designations: certified public accountant (CPA- U.S.), chartered global management accountant (CGMA), certified internal auditor (CIA), certified fraud examiner (CFE), and a certification in risk management assurance (CRMA).
Mickey is currently the owner and principal advisor of Q4 Consult, a business advisory practice focused on delivering outstanding service to clients in: internal audit, regulatory compliance, internal controls review, risk management, process improvement, and fraud investigation. Training services are also offered. He is actively seeking new mandates, including international opportunities.
His local and international work experience includes roles such as: Manager Internal Audit at GAC (a mining company wholly owned by Emirates Global Alumina), Chief Internal Auditor at CBG (a mining joint venture between Rio Tinto and Alcoa), Sr Consultant, Legal and Compliance at Standard Life Canada, Manager Financial Evaluations at Air Canada, and Auditor at Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton.
He is skilled in: mitigating risks, improving the internal controls environment, and streamlining business processes. He is also proficient at providing value-added recommendations, analyzing complex data sets, managing and working with multicultural teams, and implementing internal audit methodologies.
Mickey has expertise in managing multiple projects, delivering results in a timely manner, and working with senior management. He possesses strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills and he is bilingual (English and French). He is also a fast learner in applying his skillset to new industries.
As the business landscape is rapidly evolving, he has completed diverse continuing professional education courses, such as: data analytics, cybersecurity, blockchain, IT auditing/governance, project management, robotic process automation, and forensic accounting.
